Horror Story from Grandparent's House
April 12, 2026Last December, I bought a little brass bell that make a sound like “kerincing-kerincing” for my grandma so if she needed something, she just had to shake the kerincing and anyone in the house would come to help her. The kerincing was helpful because my grandparent’s house was quite large and it would be tiring for her if she always had to summon anyone to come.
However these days, the bell started to jingle on its own without anyone touched it. My mom started to hear the kerincing sounds at the midnight. My grandma started to think the kerincing move itself at night …
The jingling sound was clearly heard at night …
Well, I think my grandparent’s house is indeed haunted. Last March when we celebrated eid mubarak, my uncle’s car key was lost without any trace. We looked for anywhere in the house and we could not find it. Even my cousins had to go back to Makassar just to look for the spare car key, yet the result was zero.
The car key was nowhere to be found.
And somehow my hilarious family started to spread a rumour about a ghost named Juleha. THEY EVEN DROPPED (or created?) THE ENTIRE LORES ABOUT JULEHA. My uncle and my Bunda (mom's younger sister) said that Juleha was around my age (27 years old to be exact), she lived in my mom’s bedroom, and she liked pretty-sparkling things. My Bunda even asked Juleha loudly, “Juleha, where do you hide the car key?!!”
I just laughed while listening to this story. Yet, my family took this Juleha’s lores seriously. (NO, I CANNOT 😭).
Until the next day, the car key was found in my uncle’s pocket. Did that mean Juleha return it? We never knew because my uncle stated that he already looked for in his pocket but it was empty before.
